Curtain rod guides
How to measure for a curtain rod
An exact size is the basis of a good-looking curtain. In a few minutes you can measure the window and enter the exact length in the configurator — we cut to that size.
Measure the window width
Measure the window opening from edge to edge. Add 15–20 cm on each side so the open curtain does not block light — that is the rod length you want.
Choose the height (mounting)
For wall mounting the rod sits 10–15 cm above the window. For ceiling mounting it goes on the ceiling, as close to the window as possible.
A higher rod makes the window look taller and larger.
Account for brackets
From 2 m the rod gets a centre bracket so the tube does not sag — the configurator counts the brackets automatically.
On sliding systems brackets never obstruct curtain movement, however many there are. On ring and grommet rods the curtain runs from bracket to bracket.
FAQ
How much wider than the window should the rod be?
Typically 15–20 cm on each side — about 30–40 cm wider than the window, so the open curtain stacks beside the glass.
Can it be cut to the exact centimeter?
Yes. Enter the exact length in the configurator and the price updates instantly — we cut to that size.
